The most notable additions is that Pictus now supports EXIF orientation data, so now all photos should be properly rotated by default. It also adds a few new ways to set the wallpaper, depending on which version of Windows you are using. Further, the “resize window to image” function have received some optimizations and should now feel snappier.

The biggest improvements though are invisible. Pictus have been now been subjected to weeks of automated testing which have uncovered quite a few nasty crashes when loading images. Some of these crashes may have been exploitable, so the upgrade is highly recommended from a security perspective.
